      an inclusion in the directory. In my opinion, getting listed in the Yahoo
      directory isn’t really necessary for a small niche business.

      Submission to DMOZ and Zeal is free, so I definitely recommend you
      submit your site. The drawback with the last two directories is that it
      might take a few months until your site gets included and Zeal accepts
      only non-commercial sites.

   ● From second tier directories. Some examples are JoeAnt
      (http://www.joeant.com/), Business.com (http://www.business.com/),
      Blue Find (http://www.bluefind.com/), SevenSeek
      (http://www.sevenseek.com/), Skaffe.com (http://www.skaffe.com/)
      and GoGuides (http://www.goguides.org/).

      It is relatively easy to get your site included in these directories and
      you get a guaranteed review within 48 hours for a one-time fee of
      about $30. I think it is a good investment for a small business to get
      listed in 2-3 of these second tier directories.

   ● From niche directories. It is definitively worth spending a few hours to
      find some suitable niche directories for your linking program. Inclusion
      should be free and easy for most of these directories.

   ● By directly contacting webmasters of other sites. Again, choose only
      quality sites with themes that are related to your business. The ideal
      sites are those ones with excellent content, a high Google PR and a
      good Alexa score.
