product -- that’s an easy way to create valuable content.
 Directly ask people on forums about their problems, needs andd
wants. Direct questions elicit direct answers. Examples:

What are you missing in…
 Join associations within your niche. They are a great source to
learn more about the wants and needs of your industry.
Go to
American Society of Association Executives and join a group
within your niche. Read the newsletters and watch out for
recurring problems, questions and wants.
 If you are posting articles on your web site, ask your readers to
rate them. At the end of each article, allow your audience to give
a rating from 1 (not useful at all) to 5 (incredibly helpful).

not, you should be able to find some free cgi scripts on the web.
 Put a survey on your web site. Don’t make it too long, it shouldn’t
take more than a minute to complete. Keep it simple and use
multiple-choice questions, but also include at least one question that

answers will give you the most valuable information about your
audience.
If you are considering a more in-depth survey, you probably have

Make notes, whenever people are talking about their needs,
wants and problems -- remember, these could be some hot topics

 Continue with your research and watch out for recurring
patterns -- frequently asked questions, problems…
 Also, ask direct questions to get a better idea of what your
market wants. Ask: What did you miss in other products you bought?
